Wine
Ravensworth Estate Shiraz Viognier is grown at the winery's naturally farmed vineyard in Murrumbateman, sited on decomposed granite soils and loamy clay.
The Shiraz is co-fermented naturally with 5% Viognier. Around one third of the fruit is included as whole bunches. The wine is pressed after six weeks on skins.
It matures in puncheons for one year, then is transferred to an untoasted oak vat (foudre) to mature further. There are no additions. The wine is unfined and unfiltered.
Dark purple red, Ravensworth Estate Shiraz Viognier has brooding fruit flavours with plenty of spice. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
